My life has been a journey into self-healing and
becoming an acupuncturist is an extension of this. Seeking relief
from the emotional pain that I felt after my divorce, I turned to
acupuncture. It opened up a whole new world for me. After receiving the
benefits that I felt, and seeing what a powerful instrument of healing
it is, I wanted to be able to give this to others. I thought about
becoming an acupuncturist, but I wasn’t sure. One day, I asked God about
it. I heard a voice that was clear as a bell say, “Ease their
suffering”. That was not the answer I expected and those words did not
seem to be coming from my own mind! I entered acupuncture school.
I have over 31 years of experience in the healthcare field. I graduated
from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in
dental hygiene and psychology. I received my Masters of Acupuncture
degree from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland,
the first school in the country with a master’s degree program in
acupuncture. I have continued my acupuncture studies by receiving
specialized training in pain relief. I continue to study and work with
prominent people in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.
After acupuncture school, I was drawn to furthering my studies of energy
medicine at the Jaffe Institute of Spiritual and Medical healing in
California for another 3 ½ years. There I learned energetic healing and
spiritual ministry. I am an ordained minister in the Sufi tradition and
a master Sufi teacher.
I have been drawn to working with “energy” ever since my spiritual path
began in 1972 when I learned meditation. Somehow I always knew that
everything is energy, and that there is a higher purpose to life. As I
traveled down the path of spirituality and healing, I have avidly taken
many more workshops, classes, and read more books through the years than
I can even remember. I have learned an incredible variety of healing
techniques, metaphysical, and spiritual topics. What I have gained and
learned from all of this, I give to others.
In addition to acupuncture, I teach workshops and classes in meditation
and stress relief, give life coaching, and offer spiritual energy
healings that are a profound way to feed and nurture what our deeper
heart needs.
Acupuncture has become for me a very beautiful profession through
which I am able to ease people’s suffering on any level, whether it is
physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. My life is about helping
people’s hearts to heal and their spirits to be mended.
